Vinyl Plank Flooring Maintenance

Cleaning your vinyl plank flooring is a relatively simple process. Here are some steps to help you maintain your flooring:
1. Regular Sweeping: Use a soft broom or a vacuum cleaner (without a beater bar) to remove dust and dirt from the surface of your vinyl plank flooring. This should be done daily or at least a few times a week.
2. Mopping: After sweeping, mop the floor with a damp (not soaking wet) mop. Use warm distilled water and a mild cleaner (Pine-Sol). Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the vinyl surface.
3. Spot Cleaning: For stubborn stains, use a soft cloth or sponge with a bit of mild cleaner and gently rub the stain until it’s gone. Always rinse with clean water or distilled water to remove any residue from the cleaner.
4. Prevent Scratches: Place protective pads under furniture legs to prevent scratches. Avoid dragging heavy furniture or appliances across the floor.
5. Avoid Wax and Polish: Vinyl plank flooring has a shiny surface, so there’s no need to use wax or polish. These products can actually dull the finish over time.
6. Wipe Spills Immediately: To prevent staining, wipe up spills as soon as they happen.
7. Use Doormats: Place doormats at entrances to prevent dirt and grit from being tracked onto the floor.
Remember, vinyl plank flooring is designed to be low maintenance, but regular cleaning will keep it looking its best for years to come.
